This year the ebook reader market saw a whole new family of Kindles released before the 2011 Holiday Season, and now that we are upon the first big Holiday of 2012, it’s still a great gift idea. In fact, the Kindle Fire is the #1 “Most Wished For” item on Amazon in the electronics category, followed closely by the Kindle and Kindle Touch. Will there be deals this year? It’s hard to say if Amazon will break down and offer a discount on any of the Kindle models. Last year there was no deal on the Kindle 3 for Valentine’s Day on Amazon.com, but it was still the hottest gift idea for 2011 sold on Amazon.

Kindle Fire, Touch, or Regular Kindle? Which Is The Best Valentine’s Day Gift?
Many people will be wondering if they should choose a back lit screened “tablet PC” style ebook reader like the Kindle Fire, or an E-Ink version with the Kindle and Kindle Touch.
The major differences are slightly obvious, and some are less thought of. Firstly, the Kindle Fire allows for doing much more compared to the E-Ink versions. You’ll be able to play games, check email, surf the web, watch videos, read color publications, and do all sorts of things you’d expect a tablet pc to do.
The downfalls of the Kindle Fire are going to be the eye strain when reading for long periods of time, and short battery charge life, due to the color back lit screen.
The Kindle Touch and Kindle are E-Ink screens, so the battery life is much longer. You may not need to charge it more than 10 times for an entire year.
Of course, it’s considered dull and boring to the multi-media addict, whereas it’s a perfect substitute for carrying around paper novels for the purist reader.
The bottom line is, die-hard readers will love an E-Ink device like the Kindle Touch or Kindle, whereas multi-media fanatics might appreciate the Kindle Fire a little more.
Whichever way you slice it, any Kindle model is a brilliant Valentine’s Day gift for him OR her.
